In the spring of 2012, we (Rick and Sande) took a leave of absence from our jobs in southwestern Ontario, Canada, to go traveling in a part of the USA that neither of us has seen much of: the half west of the Mississippi.
We created this blog in order to post our thoughts, impressions, and photos, so that our friends and family could follow our progress and participate with us in our journey. You can find links to all of our posts about that trip, listed in chronological order, on the page Our 2012 Roadtrip.
Since that big trip in 2012, we have continued to add posts and photo slideshows from subsequent travels. You can access these (listed from most recent to earliest) through the Our Trips menu item. You can also use the list of our most recent posts, to the right of the screen on a computer or at the bottom of the page on a cellphone.
Pinot, by the way, was our cat, who we had to leave at home in 2012 because he didn’t like to ride in the car. Alas, Pinot died in 2015, so all of our travels are still without Pinot.
